Honorary Doctorate at Heythrop

On Tuesday 12 December 2017, Archbishop Michael FitzGerald, MAfr received an Honorary Doctorate  (honoris causa) from Heythrop College, University of London at Kensington Town Hall.

 

Archbishop Michael was  formerly Head of the Pontifical Council for Intereligious Dialogue and the Papal Nuncio in Egypt.

 

Fr. John Gerrard, 1st Councillor  of the UK Sector, represented the Missionaries of Africa at the ceremony. Archbishop Michael ‘s personal guests (pictured with him) included Prof. Ian Netton, formerly a student with the White Fathers at the Priory, later a student at SOAS, who then taught Arabic at Leeds University and Exeter University, and also Mr. and Mrs. (Ajit and Charanjit) Singh who had worked with Archbishop Michael in the past in the field of Intereligious Dialogue.
