A new Africa Europe Faith and Justice Network (AEFJN) contact group was launched in Nairobi on 16 February, 2018. The launch was preceded by a two-day workshop (15-16 February) on Advocacy and AEFJN. The contact group is supported by the Conferences of Major Superiors of Kenya. Prior to this, the two Conferences (male & female) worked independently of each other. AEFJN now has a common voice for the two Conferences. A structure coordinating the activities of the contact group for the next one year has been set up. The contact group chose Tax Evasion/Money laundering as the theme of their advocacy activities and the members will be meeting in the coming days to develop their Plan of Action on this theme. The Secretariat is very grateful to the contact group of UK and the Executive for their contributions in setting up the new group. In addition, the UK contact group has committed itself to working closely with the new group to mentor it.
This brings to three the total of Contact Groups on the continent of Africa: i.e. Cameroon; Central African Republic; Kenya.
